Target Audience
We have decided on our target audience for our trailer as a group. The target audience is 15+ because we think our trailer is suitable for this age group especially because it's a horror. Also most horror films are rated 15 as the graphic and violence scenes featured wouldn't be appropriate for a younger audience. We also didn't go for an 18 as this would be targeted towards adults and not many adults watch horror films as they tend to watch family, comedy or action films. Also by having our film rated a 15 they enjoy the jump scares and the unknown of what is going to happen during certain scenes of the film.
Storyboard First Draft
The images below are of our first initial ideas for the storyboard. It includes rough sketches of what is happening in each scene, names of shots and how long each scene is going to be. This isn't our final idea as we will develop it further to finalize our idea.

Certificate Research
This shows the different age classification for all films. These are decided by the BBFC. The list of age ratings are: U, PG, 12, 15, 18.
The rating "U " means that it is suitable for children above the age of 4. Films with a U rating should be set in a positive framework and not to include any type of violence. But if it did it needs to reassure children watching the film.
The rating PG means that there needs to be a parent present when young children are watching the film and some of the scenes in the film may be unsuitable for younger viewers. Films with this rating at suitable for children above 8 years old. This rating isn't suitable for our film as it contains scenes that are graphic and not suitable for young children.
The film classification of 12 means that it is suitable for people to watch that are 12 years an older. This rating is given for films if the content isn't bad throughout the whole film. We again decided this age is too young as some of the scenes may disturb young children.
The age classification of 15 means that only people over the age of 15 can watch this film because of violent scenes, strong language or scenes that are not appropriate for younger viewers. When going to watch a rated 15 film you may be asked for ID when purchasing your ticket. We decided to use this rating for our trailer as there are some graphic scenes and slight jump scares which is a perfect fit.
The classification of 18 means that only someone over the age of 18 can watch these films. A film might get this classification because of explicit scenes, strong language, high drug used or breaching the law.

Brainstorming
The image shows the first ideas we had for the trailer. It also includes ideas for the location and props which may be used. As a group we all had similar ideas for the trailer as we all enjoy the horror genre. At first we weren't sure how to come to a conclusion together on what idea to do. Also when deciding on the detail we had to figure out how much detail we wanted to include so we did another idea just in case. Our ideas conform to the stereotypes of a horror movie as it contains scary scenes, has a build up to make it tense and the characters are vulnerable the end up in danger. We made our trailer unique as we didn't want to copy any other film but also included the stereotypes.

Target Audience Research
The target audience for a horror movie is 15-21 because most young people enjoy this genre as they enjoy the thrills and jump scares. Also most young people aren't frightened of gory scenes compared to an older audience who will be afraid. Also most horror films are targeted towards men as stereo typically men men prefer enjoy violence, gory and jump scares more than a woman. Also most young males who watch horror films are still immature so get a thrill out of watching these types of films. As well as being targeted at individuals who are interested in blood, gore and supernatural activity horror films are also targeted at groups of people mostly teenagers. This is because a group of friends go to see a film to be sociable and can be scared together.
Horror films are also targeted at young couples who are going on their first date. The characters usually can be related to by the target audience especially teenagers as they're both still in school and going through some sort of drama at school. By this happening the audience feels a stronger emotion towards the film.

Final Makeup Look With Special FX
The final look we have chosen is very unique as this will give the audience the feel of goriness in a horror movie. Also by carving a smiley face on Kiera's face makes it unique as no other horror film has done this. The following photos will show the makeup in more detail and will also be explained how we did it.
This is a close up of the gunshot wound on Kiera's forehead. 2 layers of fake blood were applied. We did one layer and then applied PVA glue. After this dried we put the second layer of fake blood on which was around 20 minutes later and this made the wound look more fresh.

This is a close up of the carved smiley face. This was made with tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eye shadow. These materials made it seem more realistic give it a 3D look. We applied 2 layers of fake blood again and waited for the first layer to dry then applied the second so it looked more fresh and realistic.

This is a close up of the black eye/bruise. This was made with just an eye shadow pallet and a little bit of foundation. This is effective as it stands out and looks realistic. Also the eye shadow is pigmented so we didn't need a lot as it blends out well.

This is the final special effects look. It includes a black eye made with eye shadow and foundation. We then have the gunshot wound which was made with tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eyeshadow. We used the eye shadow palette because it was pigmented and made everything look realistic. Finally we have the carved smiley face which is on Kiera's cheek. This is made with the same materials as the gunshot wound : tissue, cotton wool, PVA glue, foundation, fake blood and eye shadow.

Makeup Trials
We have done some makeup trials for our trailer. The images below show what we did. In order to do the makeup we used glue, different makeup palettes to create the colour of the bruise and fake blood. We did a wound on the forehead, a smile carved into the cheek, a pencil going through the hand and the bruise on the side of the face.
